Dunsany got their first points of the year on a cold but still morning. The terrain was heavy underfoot but the home side started the brighter. They looked a threat going forward. It took until the fifth minute until Pierre Fox got the opening score of the game. He soon doubled the advantage with another point from play. Defensively dunsany withstood the visitors attacks thanks to some great blocks by Gaz Byrne and Charlie O'Donnell.
Carnaross got their opening score from a dead ball after 11 minutes. Dunsany then replied immediately with 2 quickfire points from Fox and Jake Harlin. Carnaross then replied but again the Dunsany response was quick with 2 points from Ger O'Neill and Fox again.
Carnaross were then awarded a penalty which was converted. To put the minimum between the sides. The home side then rallied to add further points from Fox and Alan Kelly.

The second half was a slow affair has both sides tired due to the heavy conditions. Dunsany got the opening score within seconds of the restart thanks to David Boyle. Carnaross then got their purple patch and came back into the game. They added to their tally to get back in the game. Dunsany then broke on a counter attack and after a great passing move Harlin found the back of the net to give the men in red a cushion.
Carnaross to their credit rallied and got back to within 2 points but points form Boyle and Fox sealed victory for Dunsany.
