Dunsany 2-9 St. Vincent’s 1-8
Dunsany remain on course in their quest for the Junior A Championship title with a win over St. Vincent’s in Walterstown yesterday.
In challenging weather conditions both teams battled hard despite the gale force wind and rain which greatly impacted on the quality of the game on both sides.
Dunsany went in at the break 2-3 to 1-4 in front thanks to superb goals from Mark Brennan and Ger O’Neill, a point each from Eoin Marsh and Alan Kelly and a converted free from Mark Brennan.
St. Vincent’s kept Dunsany under severe pressure netting a goal and scoring four points but luckily for Dunsany they had seven wides in the first half.
In the second half St. Vincent’s kept the pressure on and Dunsany found it hard to break them down. Eventually with three more points (two from frees) from Mark Brennan and points from Marsh, O’Neill and Thynne Dunsany went on to record their second win of the campaign.
